I was working with a friend's camel today, it was the first time anyone had been riding on his back. I knew that he would be just fine as I walked him around. I had him cush a few times to change riders, at one of the places he didn't want to go down. Anyway I got him down and had him stay there for about 5 min when he decided to get up. I tried getting him back down instantly (he can't get up without being told to) and he fought for about 15 or 20 sec (15 or 20 sec can seem longer when fighting a camel) I stop fighting with him for about 3 to 5 seconds because he had backed up and I needed to move him forward. that was enough time for him to think and get his head together, then when asked to cush he went right down. Anyway it was interesting to see what giving him a few seconds to think did.
