Check out local horse boarding facilities. That's how we got to know camels in person. we had a boarding/training stable. We kept a camel for a boarder.

I am interested in a gelded male Camel that is already broke for riding and that would live with my male alpacas. But, he would be more like my pet like other peoples horses are to them. I only have one question right now, do you have to shear them? I would think not, but that would be one thing I would dread and one reason I wouldn't want one. They seem like hardy animals and I believe we are in a great place for them. big grin

This is my buddy Oliver. He isn't being treated very well by his owner, Judith Giusto of Round Barn Merinos in Vermont. I'm trying to do what I can to make others aware of his neglect, and working to somehow put a stop to it. Read about it and please speak out:

I am helping Dr Reuven Yagil, from Israel, who is a world expert in many aspects of camels (FAO UN Handbook) but most importantly, he is working with camels to end world hunger and malnutrition with camel milk and through that research, is the world expert in use of camel milk for medical conditions, particularly autoimmune diseases, autism, diabetes, gastro related illnesses like Crohns and IBS etc. We are looking for sources of camel milk, especially unpasteurized milk that can be used for very important medical studies to prove the need for approving the sale of camel milk and its safety and suitability for use particularly in North America. We are also looking for sources of milk that can be made availabile to individuals.

In addition, we are looking for any testimonials for the use of camel milk and welcome any inquiries about the use of camel milk.

Dr Reuven Yagil's email is and he welcomes any and all questions and comments. He speaks and writes perfect English as he is originally from South Africa.
